Conference Award “Marin Barleti”

UKZ Annual Conference Award “Marin Barleti” is dedicated for academic achievement in Higher education, substantial research contributions, introduced new issues, ideas, international cooperation, and perspectives.

Additional considerations include leadership roles, as well as the actual or potential relationship between the research done and improvement of Higher education at large, through connections between researchers and HEIs in different countries with the Public University “Kadri Zeka” and their researchers.

Mr. Aqim Emurli, winner of “Marin Barleti” Award

It was a great honour to present the “Marin Barleti” Conference Award to Mr. Aqim Emurli, in recognition of his exceptional and long-standing contribution to the development, reform, and internationalization of higher education systems across the Western Balkans and beyond.

With over 25 years of professional experience, Mr. Emurli has played a pivotal role in advancing quality assurance systems, strengthening institutional capacities, and promoting evidence-based reforms aligned with European Standards and Guidelines (ESG). His engagement in Kosovo since 2017 has been particularly impactful, where he has consistently supported the transformation and modernization of higher education, including meaningful contributions to the Public University “Kadri Zeka”.

Through his leadership in international programmes and his dedication to academic excellence, governance, and innovation, Mr. Emurli has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the quality and relevance of higher education.

This award is a token of our deep appreciation for his vision, expertise, and lasting impact on higher education development.
